Hi Bend South Families:

 

I hope this email finds you all healthy.  This has been and continues to be a very difficult time for our nation, our state and our community of Bend.  The last direction that we received from Little League International was that play be suspended until May 11.  At this time, that is the date that we as Bend South Little League will be following.  Our hope is that on that date, we can start our season and enjoy watching our kiddos play and grow.  There are many meetings happening in the next couple of weeks at a state level and national level that could change those plans.  LLI is obviously making decisions based on the state and federal guidelines that are being put out and so I anticipate receiving more information in the next coming few weeks from Little League International as to how and whether to proceed.  Once I receive that, we as a board will make final decisions and I will send out another email providing direction one way or the other regarding this season and/or looking ahead to next season.  Please click on the link here to read the current message from the CEO of Little League International  https://www.littleleague.org/news/little-league-open-letter-to-parents/ 

 

As a board, as parents and as community members, we have all been experiencing hardships in various capacities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  We are doing the best we can to balance our lives with maintaining a focus on the best interest of the league.  This is not easy but we are all doing our best.  We have an amazing community here in Bend that cares about helping and supporting one another and through this trying time, we will continue to do that.  

 

As soon as more information is provided to us, the board will make decisions about a variety of things and that information will be shared with all of you.
