Divisions
Bend South Little League offers baseball and softball programs for children in the Bend South District that are between the ages of 4 - 14.
For program specifics, please read below:
- T-ball Division is for all boys and girls ages 4 to 6 who have never played before. At this level players will learn the fundamentals of hitting from a tee, throwing, catching and teamwork. The goal is to give the players an understanding of baseball and show them the value of sportsmanship. The games will be noncompetitive at this level. Players will not participate in a draft. A Player Agent will distribute all players evenly based on age and experience. Team selections will be based on school when possible. Special requests will be honored where possible. Player’s league age 4 to 6 must play one year of T-Ball before they move onto the next level.
- Farm Division is for boys and girls who have participated in T-ball and are ages 6 and 7. Players will continue the fundamentals of hitting, throwing, catching, and teamwork. The goal is to continue giving the players an understanding of baseball and show them the value of sportsmanship. The games will be noncompetitive at this level. Players will not participate in a draft and a Player Agent will distribute all players evenly based on age and experience. Team selection will be based on school when possible. Special requests will be honored where possible.
- Rookies Division is for boys and girls ages 7 and 8. Players in Rookies will learn the fundamentals of baseball while developing their personal skills in fun, non-competitive games. Players will not participate in a draft and a Player agent will distribute all players evenly based on age and experience. Team selection will be based on school when possible. Special requests will be honored where possible. Players at this level will use coach pitch baseball with an introduction to kid pitch later in the season.
- Minors Division is a competitive league for boys and girls ages 9 and 10. Players will further develop the fundamentals of hitting, fielding and teamwork, as these are competitive games. Players will be required to attend a mandatory tryout. Players will be placed using a draft system. Players league age 8 years old are eligible for consideration for the draft if their birthday is before August 31. This is, however, highly discouraged by BSLL. Players must meet Player Agent and/or Safety Officer approval prior to becoming eligible for draft and played at least one year in the division below.
- Majors Division is a competitive baseball league for boys and girls ages 11 and 12. Players league age 10 years old are eligible for consideration for the draft if their birthday is before August 31. Players must meet Player Agent and/or Safety Officer approval prior to becoming eligible for draft and played at least one year in the division below. Players will be required to attend mandatory tryout. Players will be placed using a draft system.
- Juniors Division is a competitive baseball for boys and girls ages 13 and 14. Players will be required to attend a mandatory tryout. Players will be placed using a draft system.
- Softball Divisions: Within our softball program, Bend South Little League offers four divisions.
- Rookies (ages 7 & 8)
- Minors (ages 9 & 10)
- Majors (ages 11 & 12)
- Juniors (ages 13 & 14)
- Rookies Softball is noncompetitive softball for girls ages 7 or 8 years of age. This is for players that have little or no experience. The goal at this level is to teach players the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, and teamwork.
- Minors Softball is a competitive league for boys and girls ages 9 and10. Players at this level will further develop their skills of hitting, fielding, and teamwork.
- Majors Softball is a competitive softball league for boys and girls ages 11 and 12. Players at this level will further develop their skills of hitting, fielding, and teamwork.
- Juniors Softball is a competitive softball league for boys and girls ages 13 and 14. Players at this level will further develop their skills of hitting, fielding, and teamwork.
